Book Tales

Japan – Haruki Murakami – Windup Bird Chronicles

It was quite a page-turner for me despite the fact that most of the pages were about a cat~ 😀 It is chaotic, disturbing, fragmented – yet intriguing! The main character first loses his cat and then while he is searching for it loses his wife.. and the search and bizarre turn of events in the process allows him a lot of self-reflection. Strangely in his run for the cat..he meets a bunch of folks who are equally if not more strange with stranger experience. I found myself pacing through the book and gasping for air – but the end made me feel like I was left in the middle of nowhere! I still would return to read Murakami some day.
